I never thought I'd see Zildjian get into the whole edrum kit thing. Doesn't look bad based on the pictures.

So, is this another situation like the Strata where the info got out early?

The back of the module looks really interesting. I'm guessing Zildjian is mixing the real sounds of the cymbals with triggered sounds? I see what looks like very specific jacks (I'm guessing) for the cymbals. They look like Ethernet (or maybe USB) jacks?:

Those are indeed ethernet inputs. Kinda funny because if they use mono surface mics for the cymbals (like the Gen-16) it is kinda overkill. Reminds me of Mark Drum YES, that is a shame such kit died forgotten to time.

But if those are used as mix-outs, then that could bring a whole lotta of audio channels, that if you have an inteface that has inputs of the same nature (usually some pro-studios have them).

They are 3 zones, bell, bow and edge triggering samples from the module.

Oh, so they are triggered cymbals? Okay, I though they went the Yamaha EAD10 route and mic'd the cymbals with samples playing over them in realtime. (in a way, one can say that's a trigger)

Then why the ethernet inputs? Seems like an odd choice if they are just triggered like any other pad. You would think they would use a standard TRS jack.

Mikevdrums:
If they will use Ethernet inputs, it is maybe, a triggering who need mix between mics (a la Gen16) and Piezo?
