Beginner's Guide

Hi to all on the forum,

I have just purchased my 1st ever electronic kit (20yrs behind an acoustic tho :)) and I would like to be able to record some tracks using it.
Is there a step by step guide on here somewhere which will tell me what i need and what to do?? I'm really sorry, I know nothing about it. What's a VST? What's a DAW and what additional equipment do I need to link from my DM10X to my laptop?

So sorry if this has been covered many times before!!!

Nuld, there's no concrete step-by-step guide, but you should take some time and read through this section of our forum. There are several longer threads about VST, DAW and intgration of the DM10 into specific setups.

If there are open questions after studying this threads, we will be glad to answer them.

There's a guide to VST concepts over at vdrums.com:

Helpful to understand the basic concepts and principles, no matter what brand e-drums you use. :)
