Repairing /Modding a Surge Cymbal
« on: October 11, 2010, 06:17:57 PM »
I have had some issues with one of my Surge Crashes dying on me, so I grew a set and took it apart.. come to find out, it was a broken lead on the piezo..

Here's some pics of the internals. Not a lot in there (thankfully).

Looks like an easy fix.  Cool!   that's better than having to purchase a new one.

I also had some issues with small cracks developing in the centers of the surge cymbals.  I took a few washers and hot glued them on either side of the cymbal. Hopefully, these will take the brunt of any punishment that I give em now..  ;D
