ZILDJIAN ALCHEM-E Drum Kit

ZILDJIAN ALCHEM-E

The "Rumoured" ZILDJIAN Kit ?...

I ran across a Test Page when creating/comparing a cymbal (Zildjian Soundlab) for BFD (Zildjian declined renewing their Zildjian Vault Expansions for BFD when InMusic acquired it) and a friend for the STRIKE Module..and after some checking around...also found a Trademark Extension from March 29,2024...

EDIT:
Added Zildjian E-VAULT Quick Start Quide v1_1

Wow! This is kind of cool. The link you have for "Test Page" seems to no longer have anything on it (404 Not Found).
I never thought I'd see Zildjian get into the whole edrum kit thing. Doesn't look bad based on the pictures.

So, is this another situation like the Strata where the info got out early?

The back of the module looks really interesting. I'm guessing Zildjian is mixing the real sounds of the cymbals with triggered sounds? I see what looks like very specific jacks (I'm guessing) for the cymbals. They look like Ethernet (or maybe USB) jacks?:

That was fast..I always think someone is monitoring this site..lol..
The Test page had been up for 27 Days..according to the Q&A section.
I always create a screenshot backup these days....

The Test page was under A Custom Splashes..
Apparently the 6" A Custom Splash isn't a big seller
You can compare the live page to the screen shot ..check the Review Section..
Note the Kit pieces are all Roland PT#'s...

Looking at the module screen, it looks as if a user can add one tom and three more cymbals to the basic kit.

The module have 6 inputs for shells and 6 inputs for cymbals!!

Those are indeed ethernet inputs. Kinda funny because if they use mono surface mics for the cymbals (like the Gen-16) it is kinda overkill. Reminds me of Mark Drum YES, that is a shame such kit died forgotten to time.

But if those are used as mix-outs, then that could bring a whole lotta of audio channels, that if you have an inteface that has inputs of the same nature (usually some pro-studios have them).

They are 3 zones, bell, bow and edge triggering samples from the module.

Oh, so they are triggered cymbals? Okay, I though they went the Yamaha EAD10 route and mic'd the cymbals with samples playing over them in realtime. (in a way, one can say that's a trigger)

Then why the ethernet inputs? Seems like an odd choice if they are just triggered like any other pad. You would think they would use a standard TRS jack.

If they will use Ethernet inputs, it is maybe, a triggering who need mix between mics (a la Gen16) and Piezo?

Yep, that's what I asked earlier in the topic:

But ChrisK states it's only for triggering samples. That's why I asked, "Why Ethernet ports"?

I agree with you and ChrisK...! in my opinion, there is a microphone for "acoustic" sounds (Like Gen16) and maybe also piezos for samples (bell/bow/edge triggering!!) for layering organic and digital sound??? No one knows. wait and see!!

I had a set a lonnnnnnngg time ago there was a pre-amp that went through the top and a direct source pickup ..then I believe they went to the AE system and you could rotate mics in it...hard to remember it's been a long time..
If they are triggering 3 zones and mic'ing ..with power... to each they may need the RJ45 just for all the wiring.

I attached the user Guides from back then ..I still had them

Those are placeholders. The page seemed that it was just a test-horse. You see that there is also the good ol'lorem ipsum thrown in there.

They are digital cymbal powered, there is no membrane switch for edge, there is 2 sensors and more detection across all cymbal:)

Hard to say..I seen where ChrisK mentioned there were other shells and not the 1/2 shells.

It's all kinda reminiscent of when ddrums offered a Hybrid Kit with Gen 16...

The Old Hybrid page with with the Gen Z Cymbal pack is still active....just not available..tho I don't remember ever seeing it available anywhere nor a Dealer/Retailer that actually sold it.There is an Unlisted Youtube Video on the Hybrid Series page.
In the Video the Hybrid Kit is using external triggers..The New Hybrids are Internal triggering

ddrum Hybrid Compact Kit with the Zildjian Gen 16 cymbal pack

The New Hybrids are basically A/E (Mylar with Optional Mesh Head Package) with internally mounted triggers....No Module.

ddrum Hybrid Drums

The New Module ddrum 5 ( 2024 Release) is  another 2Box Re-Brand due to be Released this year.I was going to do a post..but waiting for the actual release

ddrums still offers Electronic Kits (mostly entry level) with the New E-Flex line...they started a couple years ago (2022) during the Pandemic...they are using a very low profile Mesh setup..more like the rubber/silicone type Triggers..just using Mesh...the BT-8 and BT-9 are the latest releases.
I think people see them and presume they are rubber/silicone and pass...but they are Mesh.

There is also a 50 watt amp

ddrum 2024

Once upon a time ddrum was at the Top..
