I actually have used a guitar version of this amplifier with the Alesis Strike Multipad and it sounds okay but is not perfect. I am sure the additional lows from the bass version will help the bass and tom sounds but you may feel that the cymbals and snare are muffled.
If you already own it, I would try it before buying a new amp!
