Hi Everyone, I just joined and am grateful to have found this forum. I'm a rock guitarist/songwriter with a Tascam home studio and an Alesis SR 18 drum machine, starting to write drum parts for my newest songs. I'm new to writing parts and programming songs into the SR 18, and I am definitely in the learning curve. I've gotten about as far as I can on YouTube with the assorted tutorials, and am getting to the point where specific questions need to be answered if I am to continue. Some of these songs have some odd time signatures and changes that 'turn the beat upside down' (if I'm just letting it play thru) and I've been getting stumped programming the SR 18 thru these changes. Many of the posts I've explored are much more advanced in the workings of these systems than where I'm at, and some of these questions may seem very basic, but I need some help, so I thought I'd try it out here! Any help would be greatly appreciated; unfortunately, I don't think I'll be much of a contribution to the communities further understanding of these systems, but hopefully an example of someone greatly benefitting from the forum!
