Hello Everyone, I am new here
I recently purchased a DM10 studio kit, which i know is phased out.
I am new when it comes to house recording, so what i have done is to download cubase element 13, connect my dm10 using the USB port into my laptop and try to record, nothing happened no recording took place and no sound even.
I need someone to please give me step by step guide on how to do the hardware and software connection to enable recording.

This same exact question has been answered multiple times for multiple DAW'Software..check the search upper left.
There are Pro's and Cons with using a laptop.
A Laptop "Pro" is they are portable however a "Con" is the internal soundcards in most cases are minimal and Laptops without High Specs are not designed to handle the heavy processing required for DAW and Audio which recommendations are now in the 16GB range...Drum software Ram requirements have also gone up.
Laptop use is not recommended without an Audio Interface and depending on how you plan to record..Audio..MIDI..MIDI/Audio..single instrument/track at a time or a complete song and multiple instruments will determine the experience.The more tracks , the higher the specs are required for the laptop.
Alesis Modules are Class Compliant so no drivers are needed and you select as the MIDI Device in any DAW.
No Audio is sent over USB..only MIDI (exception DM10 MKII Pro,STRIKE Multipad).
If you want to record drum sounds from the module you will need an audio interface and setup as the Audio Device in the DAW.
You are not going to get step by step instructions....
DAW's have specific instructions on how to setup recording and if you are going to record Audio..MIDI..MIDI and Audio there is a different procedure/learning curve for each depending on the DAW/Developer..some allow multiple MIDI devices and can be assigned per instrument or track ..in this case Check the
Cubase Forum and search for setup/recording Electronic Drums.
