The Rumour has been floating around for awhile.
The question I would have is about John Emrich.
John Emrich (Fxpansion/BFD/NFUZD) came on board at Alesis as the Sound Director and during a period where the STRIKE Products were under heavy Criticism /Failures.Emrich was involved/responsible for the last update/kits the STRIKE PRO SE..and during that time period InMusic aquired Fxpansion/BFD in 2020.
Emrich was Promoted to Associate Project Manager, and finally Senior Director of Product Development.
Emrich gave notice and left in April 2023.."Time to Move On".

Why would the Senior Director of Product Development with decades of experience in Drum sample and Drum module development.. resign before a Flagship release ?
Flagship products don't happen overnight and those involved typically hang around long enough to be associated with it to add to their resume/portfolio etc..

I wouldn't worry too much about John Emrich leaving Alesis. The turn over at Alesis has always been rather high since I started this forum. There has been many people to come and go. At or near the position of Emrich. Heck, the guy the headed up the original Alesis DM10 & Trigger I/O project is now running Simmons over at Guitar Center. He left within a year of the DM10 coming out. Remember Texas Tim Root? He had a lot to do with the release of the Strike. He was gone after a year or two of the release of the Strike. It's just the way things work at Alesis.

I wouldn't connect someone leaving Alesis as a necessary a sign of bad things to come. Don't forget Emrich was also involved with NFUZD electronic drums. Not exactly a smash hit. Chances are Emrich got a better offer to work somewhere else and went for it. That's all.

With a definitive statement like that, you need proof. Do you have any links/pics you could share to prove your statement?

Now I am curious, because I also saw in vdrums you making such statements.

If you can PM me more details, that would be cool. :) Also, for whatever reason, I am unable to reply to your BDF Player message, so I am also eagerly waiting for further updates on that end as well!

If you have a picture you can share that would be great! I think we all understand that things are subject to change on release.  ;) (I know that all too well).

Still no picture? I'm guessing you are not able to show the picture (an agreement of some kind maybe?).

Checkout this Video ..BFD Player - Dark Copper... ..very closely....NEW Kit (NEW Toms..NEW Cymbals)..with NEW Module (Large Screen)...doing a DEMO of one of the New BFD Player Expansions..

It's definitely not another entry level kit . ;)

Nice..I was able to grab a couple more images to show the new module. Look at that large color display!
I still can't make out what Alesis is calling the new module.

Again with the tease. You and ChrisK know something but don't say?  ???

If I had to guess it looks as if the name of the module has about (5) letters in it (I'm looking at the side of the module with the backlit Alesis logo).  Any guesses? Of course that word under Alesis might just be "DRUMS", but I doubt that's the name of the module.

No Tease..I guess the Video could be considered a Tease for only those who are extremely familiar with Alesis drum kits and would notice the New Kit..otherwise viewers are just cheking out the New BFD Player expansion...There is not one comment asking about the Kit...so far.

The Video is all I have come across and I have no idea where ChrisK or others get their info.
I have never seen anything to back any of that info up.
The drummer in the video I believe is Jamie Fisher InMusic/Alesis (UK).

The new member here.. is Drew .
He has been with BFD from the beginning..if there is any information allowed/possible he will relay it..otherwise why join an Alesis Drums site that isn't affiliated with InMusic/Alesis/BFD ...unless it's because Alesis Drums and BFD are now connected/marketed together. The BFD Forum is mainly filled with Producers.
I have been using BFD since 2003 and active member in the Forum, one of the very few E-drummers if not the only Alesis E-drummer.
More and more users are showing up in the BFD Forum with  Zero experience with Drums and Software so I assist/troubleshoot and direct them here...like here a lot are just Hit-n-Runners.
I know the software inside out including manual editing creating/correcting the MIDI maps (doesn't matter which module) Macros..Presets..Kits..Instruments/Mixers..for all of the expansions including 3RD party and all the issues with them over the years that developed with New versions and changes to installations as OS changed.
I also create my own expansions/Instruments/libraries from 2" Tape recordings when I had a Studio in the late 80s-early 90's and now in my home studio (1,000 sq ft) with graphics for personal use.(100's of them )
During COVID I digitized all of the Tape as it became too expensive and a hassle to preserve it.

The lighted logo on the side looks to be the same logo as on the drums.---Alesis Drums---
It also Looks to be on the back of the module and Top of the module.. bottom left .
I can't make out the (2) names/words at the top right of the module...one all in caps..smaller text next to it..there are no controls around those 2 and they are not near the back panel...similar to the logos on previous modules

Thanks for the extra info. I seem to remember BFD being acquired by InMusic a few years back:
inMusic Acquires BFD

Based on that video you linked above, it looks as if Alesis is close to release on that kit. To be honest I'm surprised Alesis didn't stick with the acoustic like look of the Strike. Unless that is a somewhat cost reduced version of the new flagship? I know Roland and Yamaha do those kind of things.

You and I were the only ones to post about BFD acquired by InMusic (Alesis).

There are a few posts with speculation about if BFD samples were going to appear in Alesis drums..which they have (Nitro MAX) and if there would be a Module that supported downloading Kits/Libraries etc..more than likely proprietary files (Not Wav)...unknown as of yet.
I know they have experience with that.BFD3 had an export feature (proprietary files) for NFUZD and there was probably quite a bit learned from it..both good and bad and we know NFUZD failed.Loading samples into the module was a somewhat involved process with a Dongle.
I had a friend with one of the modules and I helped him a couple times.I have all the documentation somewhere.

I am sure COVID delayed the timeline..since 2020 was the first year of it.
The New BFD Drums went online and the New Forum was created in 2021.
2022 was the start of transition the BFD3 software/installers were converted to InMusic offerring migration from Fxpansion (v3.4.4.31.) around the same time the (ROLI) Fxpansion Lic Server went offline.
Starting with BFD3 (v3.4.5.28) ALL users had to redownload and re-authorize ALL expansions and request New Serial numbers for 3RD Party expansions etc..some of the 3rd party developers are not fans of InMusic and opted out so not all of the expansions offered then are available now.Somewhere along those timelines support for exporting to NFUZD modules was discontinued.

InMusic is now extremely focused on DRM. A New Lic system for BFD3 was implemented.. which does an online check every 90 days and has caused a lot of problems as often it doesn't wait the full 90 day period and users get locked out of BFD3 and this has caused a lot of anger/frustration (to say the least) and a large number of users/producers/studios don't have their machines online.
The BFD Player uses an entirely new license system..the InMusic Software Center.
BFD4 will be using it..BFD3 will remain on the current system until then.
InMusic still hasn't migrated the Alesis accounts to the InMusic site.I migrated all of mine manually.
There are different InMusic sites now and you are required to have an InMusic Profile
Downloads/software bundle with products etc etc are now handled at the InMusic Software Center
You can get the download/setup info from the Video ..or here are the current links in my Profile.

MAC

PC

I have no idea why the backtrack (other than the kick) from acoustic style toms.It was the first thing I noticed...maybe there are other options for other kit pieces and there may be more than one Kit version for that module or a product line..like the difference between some of the other kits ..same module..different hardware/triggers.....who knows..it's all speculation at this time..we do however know a New Kit does exist.

To be honest, I wasn't thinking about the ability to make kits in BFD and then upload them to a module. From what I've seen around the net these days only about 1% of edrummers actually seem to upload custom sounds of any kind to their modules.

Most players just want to sit down and play. If they want different sounds I think players would just want a way to purchase expansion kits like one would do for BFD. I just don't see the desire for your typical player to design custom kits. They want it done for them. That's why companies like Vexpressions is so poplar for the Roland modules. That's just my two cents.  :)
