Wow,

I honestly though BFD was done for. Glad to see them around and actually releasing cool stuff for free!

Gonna test this when I arrive home from work.

Well I have installed and played arround with it, and I gotta say...

Plays like a dream on Linux.

Yep, you read that right. This under Wine with Pipewire runs with extra-low latency! And the sounds are serviceable for jams and the such!

Glad to hear it !

BFD3 Dark Farm is the most recent expansion.
The BFD Player Core Library is based on Dark Farm -  DW Collectors Maple Kit..
The BFD Player Dark Mahogany Expansion is based on the Dark Farm -  Q Co Drums Mahogany Kit.
Dark Farm is the only BFD Expansion that has the upgraded Hi hat Samples for the Upgraded Hi Hat engine.

Thanks for the info Chaser!

The only thing that sucks is that the kits are locked to the number of pieces available. You can't add another cymbal or Tom slof, and you are stuck to the drum layout it comes with.

But hey, it's free, so that is my little complain.

Well that suck you can't modify the kits to add extra pieces.
I just got the Nitro Max(Still in the box) going to try to set it up today and see how it goes.
My 10 year old DM10 has just about had it...

The Nitro Kits (Medeli DD512)..are single zone Toms and Cymbals..the Snare is Dual Zone...the Crash has choke.
The Surge Kit uses the same module but has Dual Zone Toms..

This is a New Module..I don't have any other info than the Manual.
However the MIDI Map shows Dual Zone mapping for the Toms so check the DB25 Harness and see if TRS.

You are the 1st one that I know to purchase one.

I considered purchasing if I get one of the GC Coupons for 25% off...just for the Module to check out which BFD Samples were used and if from one expansion or multiple.
I could try and cross reference to the BFD Data Base , but without actually hearing them it would be just a best guess..

I am not sure if the DB25 is TRS or not.
I hooked it up to the MAC (using Reaper as a DAW and the SSD VST) via USB and it sounds pretty good. I will also try out the AD 2.0 VST when I get a chance to play with it more.
Very responsive to ghost notes and rebound is nice OR it could be that my old DM10 was so worn out the MAX feels better, I dunno.
I didn't play around with it too much other than tighten the heads a bit since the are loose when shipped.
The footprint is smaller than the DM10 rack, so I may use the DM10 rack to give some more space.
I am going to add another cymbal as well when I get the chance. I set it up at work..haha

I know this is the space for the BFD and not the MAX, but I'll download the BFD Player later as well when I get the chance.
If you need me to move this convo over to the MAX thread, I can.

You can move if you like..The Nitro Max and other Alesis Kits include the BFD Player.
There isn't an "Official" Nitro MAX Thread/Topic yet..just the Water Cooler.
I did start one for the BFD Player in the VST, MIDI, & Recording.

The earlier Alesis Kits received Serial Numbers after product Registration on the Alesis site, which hasn't been migrated to InMusic Brands site yet and the Newly released BFDPlayer v1 requires an InMusic profile and the New Software Center.

The earlier SE kits had a different Version of BFD Player v0.9 and a slimmed down version of Dark Mahogany.
I presume since Nitro Max was released the same day as the New BFD Player Version..the old version is obsolete..I dunno , no one has ever posted in this forum with the Surge/Command Mesh SE Kits.
