Layering sounds on cymbals
« on: February 19, 2010, 10:05:36 AM »
Anyone know if a user can layer two sounds on the Hihat, crash and ride inputs?

Never mind, it looks that I can layer two sounds on crashes and rides.

i belive that is called Polyphony and on the dm5 there is 16 voice Polyphony  with the dm10 there is 64 voice Polyphony but you could layer up to 16 voices or 64 respectfully
the process of a thought is only stirred on by creative ingenuity

According to the Manual, yes.

Quote from: Alesis DM10 Operators Manual
Whenever you strike a trigger on your electronic drum set (e.g., a
cymbal, a drum pad, etc.), it will trigger a Voice in the module. A
Voice is the sound assigned to that trigger. Each Voice consists of[/]

[]two Layers, and each Layer has its own Instrument (a drum sound[/]
[]such as a tom, snare, hi-hat, etc.) which can be selected or edited.
