DIY-Snare

Hi there,
just wanted to share my new Project with you guys......

My goal was it to build my own Snare-"Pad" including my own Triggersystem.
After studying several Internet-Sites I came up with this......

I bought a 13" x 6" Shell, black chrome hardware and started to build the triggersystem.

Here some pics......

Nice job!
A dying man needs to die, as a sleepy man needs to sleep, and there comes a time when it is wrong, as well as useless to resist.

Do you have any problems with volume spikes if you hit the cone? I'm also curious as to the total cost. Very beautiful build!

Thanks for your replies !!!
....the total cost for the Snare was about 220 Euros for all the parts.
There are no dramatic volume peaks when I hit the center of the Head.

Great job ! One question : can you give us the wiring schema of the piezo to the jack connector ? I want to do the same, but I don't know how to wire the piezo

Thanks

FYI, the current edition of digitalDrummer mag (p-46) has a neat DIY edrum project that should be fairly easy to construct: http://en.calameo.com/read/00430531093d5365c9f00

Although I'd prob'ly add a layer of vibration absorbing foam under the head piezo sensor to avoid possible mis-triggering from rimshots, kinda like ahu did with his 3 rubber grommets.
