Its the abbreviation for MUTE GROUP..there are 16 you can set..
Normally, when you hit a pad while another triggered sample is playing, the new sample will overlap the currently playing one.
When you hit a pad in a mute group, all other samples whose pads are in the same mute group will stop playing immediately.
A lot of Drum module have the Hi Hat in a MUTE GROUP

The Crimson II Module (Medeli DD650) doesn't support layering.
You can construct a single sample layered with a snare/clap using software/DAW etc.. then  load it USB..
or you can layer the GM Kits..you'll need a 5 Pin MIDI Cable.
