DM10 Rim setting

Hi Guys,
So I have a DIY tom that I have just made dual zone for my DM10. I attached the piezo to the shell and it works pretty good except that it is way too sensitive. I just installed some 1/4" fuel line for a rim silencer and it fits really nice and will definitely save my sticks and reduce the acoustics. But it is just way too sensitive. When I strike the rim it triggers and then as it continues to vibrate it makes like a mini drum roll. The fuel line is a real snug fit too. If I turn down the sensitivity it just lowers the volume of the strike but the aftershocks are still registered. I was looking for a "threshold" setting but it doesn't have one. And there is no "retrigger" either. Both of which might cure the problem.

Any ideas?
