Alesis DM10X mesh power question
« on: January 28, 2016, 03:31:27 PM »
Hi there, I recieved my Alesis Dm10X mesh yesteryear and after an hour my power supply cable went, just wondering would a power cable with the following power supply be to many Volts for my DM10X module;
Input : 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz 2A Max
Output : DC18V - 4A Max

Or;
PRI:100-240V ~60/50Hz 500mA
SEC:9V -1.5A 18/20V - 1.2A 24V -1A 24VA
(This one set to 9V)

Just a query

Output needs to be AC

I'm just wondering though, would those specs I listed above be enough to FRY my entire unit? I know the correct specs now for my Alesis, but in a panic I stupidly plugged them in, helpppp.

You have hopefully not fried it - but do not try any non-standard PSU's - the Dm10 needs the much more rare AC/AC power supply, and it must be the correct one, made for the voltage in your region.
A PSU with DC instead of AC, but with the correct voltage, should hopefully not have done any damage to the module.

The first one i stated though was a DC 18V 4A MAX. This is doulbe the voltage and i am worried it may have done some damage? Over maybe the space of 4 minutes or so. Thanks for the replies. Just a confirmation weather this most likely did damage or not? As i am pretty darn worried haha.

Get the correct power supply and try.

And next time - don't experiment with power supplies without thoroughly checking voltage and polarity.
