Does the mesh conversion in the video affect the triggering of the set?  Will it miss ghost notes and subtle rolls?
No. You will have to re-tweak your trigger setting because you have changed the inside of the trigger, but I can get soft rolls, flams, and ghost notes. Its all in the settings.

Do you have a workup on the kick drum module?  I would like to see this.  I am not able to play right now due to me healing from neck fusion.  but I am able to tinker and if I get this I might be able to convert it and get it ready to play by the time I am released to dink around again,.

The kick drum pad is the same as all the other pads on the set. The kick pad just mounts differently so, the conversion is no different than the others. I hope that helps.

$999 for the studio kit?  wow. I am thinking that the module by itself is $699.  That means for another $300, I can get 4 cymbals, the rack and the module.  That's a pretty good deal.  BTW, I don't care about the pads..

Available for pre-order now at a variety of places.  Zzsounds tells me they'll have more stock Feb 12th.   I expect to have my kit ordered by month's end.  $999 is a smokin deal!

Well... eugenecp's post reminded me to look at Zzsounds's Est. Delivery date.  it was Feb 12th.  Now it's March 14th!   Looks like they sold all their inbound product, and new orders are being applied to the next Alesis order.   Well, I didn't want to wait that long.  So, i went to AMS and placed my order!  i'm thinking it'll ship mid Feb and i'll get it late Feb.  which gives me time to prep the Mrs.... not that $1,000 is a lot of money, but it is $1000.  :)

I'm excited and can't wait to get my hands on this unit.  Looks like I'm joining the DM10 crowd.  Woot!   ;D

Congrats on the purchase. I hope you enjoy it. BTW, do you still have your DM5? I can't remember if you had one and got rid of it or if you kept it. You you have one, you might want to keep it because it will work great as a way to expand to amount of triggers you can use with the DM10. ;) This goes for anyone who has a old drum module with midi. For those that don't know what I'm talking about check out this thread:

DM10, 35 additional sounds via MIDI!!!

Just think, you could make a super DM10 kit! :o

I returned the DM5, so that won't work.  But, if I wanted it eventually, I could probably find one cheap on ebay or craigslist.

Very interesting!   for now, I'll be happy with the DM10 all by itself.  :)

If that's the case, just go for the Trigger I/O.
