DM Pad Cymbal always chokes when hit.

Hey guys,
Would love a speedy response to get me drumming again.
Whenever I hit my DMPad cymbal, it chokes. Always.
Any idea what could be wrong and how I can resolve it?

The way these cymbal choke is via two strips of metal inside the edge of the cymbal. Grabbing the edge of the cymbal causes to the metal to make contact and that is how the module knows to make the choke sound and kill the cymbal sound.

By the sound of it the choke strip in your cymbal is permanently connected. Therefore it chokes every time you hit it. Either that or the choke strip is getting activated by you playing the pad.

Either way is a mechanical problem and one I have no idea how fix.

You should provide more information (OP).  Which brain is being used?  Is your input for the pad in a mute group?  Have you swapped inputs or cables?  If you have a shorted cable, that may trigger a choke on the cymbal. I would check the instruction manual on mute groups and swap inputs/cables before opening the pad.
