Alesis DM Lite, Is this a rebadged Medeli drumkit?
« on: August 18, 2016, 05:47:16 PM »
Have been hearing that most of the Alesis made drumkits are rebadged Medeli kits. How about the Alesis DM Lite? It does not look like any of the Medeli kits. Ger.

Welcome to the forum.

Couple things:

- Yes many of the parts of Alesis drum kits are Medeli rebrands, but not all.
- Being Medeli doesn't necessarily mean it's junk.
- The DMlite is a rebranded product from Medeli (see Medeli DD401).

The only drum products by Alesis that are not Medeli are the Trigger I/O module (now sold by Ddrum as the DDti) and the DM10/8 modules. Those are in-house designed products. The new Strike kit/module will also be all Alesis.

The thing to keep in mind with edrums is, you get want you pay for. If you are trying to stay on the cheap, you will get cheap. Just like an acoustic kit. I hope that helps. Again, welcome to the forum.
