What make/model do you use...?

It is time for me to get some "nicer" ones...

Looking for feedback on them...

I use Audio Technica ATH M50. Very comfortable and a very flat response. The only pair of headphones I own. Use them for everything dealing with music.
Have a good time all the time!

I recently got some new AKG K271 MKII phones that I'm really diggin'.  Used K240's for years but really like these.  They have a warmer sound which translates nicely when playing my kit.

For me it's the Sony MDR-7506 all the way. There's a reason you see them in so many studios and media production facilities. Heck, I even sleep with them on so comfort is not a concern. They stay on when I'm playing drums, and cost under a hundred bucks. When mixing in the studio they're more of a microscope, which is why so many sound engineers rely on them. They're flat, and not there to make your mix sound pretty, but rather give you the truth. And being closed-air there's no bleed-through. You really feel you're in an isolation booth. The design has been around for a great many years, and I'm glad they haven't altered it much.

I use the Sony MDR-7506.

They are fantastic. They have a frequency response from 5 Hz to 40 khz. The sensitivity rating is 108 dB at 100mW. (The higher the sensitivity rating the better.) 24 Ohms which means you can use them without a headphone amp.
A note to point out is that bandwidth frequency for most human ears is 20 Hz - 20kHz. So dont get to hung up on frequency response to much. Just stay within that human hearing range. If you can hear below and above that range then you have super human hearing. As we get older our hearing response drops off a bit anyhow.  For me it came down to what felt comfortable and what sounded great to my ears.

Headphones for what?

For mixing I use Beyerdynamic DT770 or Audio Technica ATHM50S. For my one e-kit I have the old workhorse AKG 240S.
For the other e-kit it will be Shure SRH840. The comfort of the BD:s is hard to beat I must say.
If you can - get the Ultrasones and be done.

Because of my job i own a couple of headphones
For the live gigs i use in ear Shure Cl315 which are great at isolating the external sound but i would prefair the 2 drive in ear headphones of Shure
For mixing i use the classic BeyerDynamics Dt770 and also the Akg Mkii K271 . The Beyer are just awesome ...When i play drums though i prefair the Akg's
For drumming i also tried a set of Allen Heath the xonen xd53's which i used for the time i was djing but they were a bit dissapointing

If you like a very good value for money set with awesome sound which you can wear a lot of hours and do your job buy the BeyerDynamics...
It is a set which will do any job without dissapointing you in any way

Those Sony 7506's are $80 on Amazon.  Not bad really.  I might try them.

Vic Firth Isolation Headphones. Have 1 set on the Electronic Kit and 1 on the acoustic kit. I love them - though they fit a bit snug.

1400+ reviews.

Here's one:
Pros: - Sound (not incredible but not half bad)
- Very little sound leakage from inside
- Decent noise blocking from outside
- Solid design
- Folds up nicely, portable
- Multiple cords
- Comfortable after a few days
- PRICE.

Cons: - Bass heavy (not a con if that's what you're looking for)
- Materials are not high quality
- No care or instruction booklet

For the price, you won't beat it.

Bahahahaha!!!  I could see if they were battery operated noise cancelling versions as you might need help figuring out where the batteries go, but otherwise, DUH!!

I just ordered a set of those monoprice jobbies with the upgrade pads.  I just dumped close to $900 on my dm10, so I can't spend the big money on more expensive ears yet.  Maybe I will ask for them for Christmas!  Lol!

I have had them, and used them for a couple gigs and practice, for a year or so. Work great for the price and if they break....i just get another pair no problem. Should have ordered more than one pair to save on shipping.

If I like them, I will probably do just that.  Order a couple pair and maybe see if any local friends want some too.
