DM10 EXPRESS KIT?
« on: December 30, 2010, 06:33:02 AM »

http://www.thomann.de/gb/alesis_dm10_express_kit.htm

It has one less pad and cymbal and costs less than the Studio kit.
But is it a Thomann exclusive? I can't seem to find it anywhere else.

Looks like Thomann has cut off the right tom holder arm in Photoshop ;D

I think it's a Thomann exclusive offer. The text seems also being cut off in the part with the number of pads.

Hi, just registered to this forum :).

I got DM10 Express kit from Thomann couple days ago.. it's basicly USB Pro kit + DM10 module, so there's no 10" snare, it's 8". I was a bit dissapointed with it but what can I do.. There is a text under the picture: "four RealHead 8" Snare-Toms Dual-Zone Drum Pads with real Mylar Drum Head" and 10" RealHead not mentioned. I think that it's still cheap kit. I'm already planning to do a mesh head convert because I don't like much how those pads feel. I already changed snare's head to Remo Emperor Coated head and it's slightly better now. Next I will re-arrange those foams inside like Phil suggests and later on change mesh heads.

Still, I would like to get bigger snare.. One option is Millenium PD-1012 12" mesh head pad. With that, my set is still cheaper than studiokit, and I have only one cymbal less. Need to study more is that PD-1012 good enough.

btw, this is great forum! I have already got lot of help from here :).

I think that both pictures describe the same cymbal set, but don't rely on them ;).
One is the picture of the Express kit offer, the other is the picture of the Express Kit *Bundle* offer. The bundle offer includes the Express kit offer plus some other products. The Express kit's descriptions says:

"Cymbal Set containing HiHat, Crash and one Triple-Zone Ride"

is the crash with choke?

cymbals included in the set are those shown in the first image of the post or this drumset is essentially a usb studio drum kit (http://www.alesis.com/usbstudiodrumkit) with DM10 module and triple-zone ride?

As jaho wrote here earlier, it's basically an USB Pro kit plus the DM10 module. But since there are no Surge cymbals I would call Thomann to clear it up.
