Drum Shells

So, i've been thinking... which is usually a bad idea...

What do you think about deepening the stock shells of a DM10 Pro and wrapping with a sweet birch (or whatever Wrap)?

I'd need shell and longer rim screws.  Or maybe just wrap the current shells.

Has anyone done this?  How much foam would I need to add?  ( I assume I'd need to add as much foam as the depth of the shell.)

I don't know if I want to go to the trouble of doing this, it's just been rattling about in my head, as I imagine playing on stage.

Thoughts?  Suggestions?

why add more foam? surely you could just extend the heads as they are atm so that the foam etc all stays in the same place but the drum shell just gets extended for the effect side of things lol

Are you talking about keeping the same diameter? That would look funny if you ask me. Like playing octa's throughout your kit.

Are you after making it more acoustic looking? or something else?
