Simmons Da200s vs Alesis Transactive 400 (UPDATED)
« on: July 02, 2016, 02:23:08 PM »
I am now in the Alesis club, just bought a DM10X non mesh, (thats next) and I am buying a monitor. This will be for my own use, playing along with drumless track in my garage. I am down to a Simmons DA200s or a Alesis Transactive 400. The Simmons with a 4th of July coupon is 300. tax included.  The Alesis 400 is refurbished from a large ebay seller of Alesis stuff for 179. shipped. I don't need the power of the alesis but it sounds like a good value. The savings will pay for a better set of head phones I need. Does anybody have feed back on the Alesis monitors/thoughs?

Thanks

I bought my speaker, neither of the above. I picked up a open box Roland CM-110 speaker system. Based on information I could find they work reasonably well with edrums while giving me flexibility for other uses. If anyone is interested I will post back my experience with them.

Thanks

I considered the same options - Simmons DA200s, Roland CM-110 or CM-220, and Alesis Transactive 400.   Simmons is the only one readily available.  I went with the Alesis (factory reconditioned - would have preferred new) and am satisfied with it.  For me it is only for home practice.

I have been using my Roland CM-110's for a month now and they work well. Nice controls and plenty of inputs. What I did not consider is the soft cloth speaker cover, one bump and I will have damage. Ok for home use but it would be nice to have something I can bang into without worry.
