need a part sourced
« on: July 26, 2017, 06:16:48 PM »
Hello all,
I just bought a dm10x as my first ever edrum kit and I have a problem.
I had the music store here in Guadalajara deliver it and set it up for me after purchase.
I was unfortunately not here at the house when this was done and upon closer inspection it appears they mangled the high hat mounting hardware.
The plastic looks filed down where the main 1" arm connects and has no wing nut adjuster. It's angled (spread) open slightly and wont accept the bolt, wingnut thru it.
It holds the high hat tightly but cannot be adjusted up and down for personal comfort. It looks like the mount was made for a smaller diameter cymbal rod.
Can't find a source for parts here or even anybody to talk to about it.
Any thoughts?

That bit is suppose to look like this..

The hi hat stand should be 19mm. It looks to me like they have shoved one of the cymbal stands in there... They are 25mm.

A subtle difference but enough to ruin your hi hat holder clamp.

If that is the only hi hat arm you have, then don't but another like the one in the photo.

Instead just get one of these...

Or better still go back to the 'music store in Guadalajara' and show them this message.. (and have them get the correct clamp and supply the correct 19mm hi hat arm) .

(now I'm off to Google Maps to see where Guardalajara is.) :)

Just a thought. Have a look around the rest of the kit. See if one of the cymbal arms is not a 'boom' arm. All 3 of the DM10X cymbal arms are boom. Only the hi hat is straight.

Here is another thought. Maybe the hi hat arm they gave you is correct, and the clamp is wrong (too small). So they forced it open.

The clamp is backwards. They put the hihat tube in the rack mount

Surely it's up to the music store to sort it out, what are they saying?

Dobly was right on the money. They had the splash cymbal and hi-hat tubes bass ackwards. However, the clamp is mangled, so I am going to have to get a new one.

H-Bop, it's Mexico, it's your problem...Typical.

BTW, Dobly, where did you get that universal clamp?
I'd like to relocate the splash from it's currently non-adjustable position in a vertical riser top...
