False cymbol triggering on dm8
« on: January 24, 2016, 05:58:31 PM »
Whenever i play the Dm8 i have problems with false triggering on the cymbals (mostly the ride). If i hit any of the rims or anywhere but the center on the high tom the vibrations seem to trigger a cymbol. If i lower the sensitivity/threshold/curve it makes it so i have to slam the cymbol just to get it to play. Do you guys have any tips on how to solve this. I can only think of getting a separate cymbal stand and using that.

You want a low sensitivity and a high threshold on the pads to reduce crosstalk. Do remember to set sensitivity on both zones of the ride. In addition, try increasing xtalk receive on both ride zones, and increase xtalk send on the other trouble pads.
But - avoid xtalk send and receive of 6 and especially 7.

Look at page 27 of the manual.  It gives a pretty good explanation of how set the crosstalk parameters.
