New Drummer - DM8 USB
« on: November 27, 2015, 04:41:04 PM »
Hi all, my name is Don and I am a 45 year old new drummer. I got my kit about 2 months ago used at GC for cheap..woot. My musical interests are mainly 80s metal (Maiden, ACDC, WASP, RATT, Skidrow, etc).

I am not doing to terrible bad, but have focused on rudiments versus songs. If I need anything, it would be help setting up my drum kit to replicate 80s metal kits. I know it comes with a 80s metal preset but it kinda sucks imho. If anyone has a good kit setting for 80s metal sounds I would love if you could help me out with settings.

My kit:
DM8 USB

Additions (aside from base kit):
- 2 crash (single trigger/non-choke)

Thanks and I hope to get a lot out of you guys.

Yeah most of the original DM10 kits (same as DM8) aren't suitable for Metal but some of my preferred settings are available here: http://www.dmdrummer.com/index.php?topic=4240.msg43954#msg43954

Thanks for the spreadsheet. That helps. I'm going to try a couple tonight/tomorrow.
