DM8 USB connection
« on: May 03, 2018, 09:37:07 AM »
Hi guys, I am new to the forum.

I have been playing on DM8 Pro for a few years. Recently trying to connect it to my laptop in order to use a program called Roland DT-1 V-Drums tutor. I have been successfully connected it and played for a couple weeks. But all a sudden, my computer will not recognize the drum module anymore. I tried 5 USB cables and 3 computers. When I plug in the USB cable, the computer shows no sign of anything. Device manager is not listing my drum module anymore.

Sorry for the long story. Can anyone give me some insight what may goes wrong? I suspect that the module is the culprit. If so, I am just doomed. But I never have any other USB devices failed before. Do you have any idea of an "easy" fix? Thanks in advanced.

Just think of something. My laptop still runs on Windows 7. Would that be a Windows update breaks the connection? It just stopped working all a sudden. I tried 2 other laptop which has Windows 10 (they all don't recognize the drum module). Not sure what to say. But do you think I can try uninstall a few Windows update on my Windows 7 laptop?
